APRIL 2009 INCIDENTS

Call # 55   04-09-09

At 21:23 on Thursday, April 9, Station 264 along with Stations 262 and 174 were dispatched fir an unknown type of fire in the 300 block of Laurelwood Drive in Shaler Township. (262's District).  262 Truck arrived on scene and reported a controlled burn and all units went back into service at 21:31.


Call # 54   04-08-09

At 21:30 on Wednesday, April 8, Station 264 along with 261 Engine 1, 149 Engine 1, 262 Truck, 102 RIT, and Shaler Fire Police 325 were dispatched for an oven fire inside of a residence at 1818 Shaler Drive in Shaler Township. (264's District).  264 Chief arrived on scene and reported a light smoke condition and that all units could disregard with the exception of 264.  All 264 units went back into service at 21:55.


Call # 53   04-07-09

Beginning at 12:43 on Tuesday, April 7, 264 Truck participated in a public service detail at Vilsack Road and Mount Royal Boulevard in Shaler Township. (261's District).  264 Truck went back into service at 13:17.


Call # 52   04-06-09

At 18:53 on Monday, April 6, 264 Truck along with Station 261, 164 Engine 1, 247 Truck, and 149 RIT were dispatched for a smoke coming from the rear of a residence at 416 Pin Oak Drive in Shaler Township. (261's District).  164 Assistant arrived on scene and reported a rec fire in a pitt and all units went back into service at 18:58.


Call # 51   04-04-09

At 18:59 on Saturday, April 4, Stations 174, 164, and 262 were dispatched for heavy smoke coming from the row of greenhouses at 2128 Middle Road in Indiana Township. (174's District).  174 Assistant arrived on scene and reported smoke showing and requested a 2nd alarm be dispatched.  At 19:09, Station 261 and 264 Truck were dispatched for the 2nd alarm commercial structure fire assignment.  At 19:29, 174 Assistant requested 165 Air respond.  At 19:56, the fire was brought under control and crews began checking for extension.  174 and 262 units waited for the fire marshal and 264, 261, 164, and 165 were released.  All 264 units went back into service at 20:58.


Call # 50   04-02-09

At 18:57 on Thursday, April 2, Station 264 along with 261 Rescue 3, 149 Rescue 1, and Shaler Fire Police 325 were dispatched for a motorcycle accident at Glenn Avenue and Ella Street in Shaler Township. (264's District).  The driver was taken to the hospital, no need for fire units, and all 264 units went back into service at 19:35.


Call # 49   04-02-09

At 13:18 on Thursday, April 2, Station 264 was dispatched for hot wires down in front of 1457 Glenn Avenue in Shaler Township. (264's District).  A truck pulled down lines from a building and the truck was tangled up in them.  Duquesne Light was requested as a priority.  At 13:56, Duquesne Light arrived on scene.  The wires were untangled, the road was re-opened, and all units went back into service at 14:20.


Call # 48   04-01-09

At 16:29 on Wednesday, April 1, Station 264 along with 261 Rescue 3, 149 Rescue 1, and Shaler Fire Police 325 were dispatched for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries in front of 1007 Mount Royal Boulevard in Shaler Township. (264's District).  Shaler PD arrived on scene and reported that there were no injuries, however one fire unit was needed for containment.  264 Chief arrived on scene and requested that all units disregard with the exception of 264.  264 units went back into service at 16:43.
